The European Union’s Galileo satellite navigation system has recently undergone rigorous testing aimed at assessing in depth its integrity, continuity and accuracy. We are pleased to report that the testing campaign was successful, with all services and parameters restored back to their nominal ranges within the planned timeframe.

The Galileo test is now fully completed and all services are back at their nominal capacity. There are no plans for this test to be repeated in the future. We thank the Galileo users worldwide for their understanding and patience during this period and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

The Galileo Open Service (OS), the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) and the Full Operational Capability Search and Rescue (SAR) Service Performance Reports for Q4 2024 have been published.

The Galileo infrastructure will undergo a test preliminary to the introduction of new Galileo services which may cause degradation of performance and service interruption.

The Galileo satellite GSAT0104 has been decommissioned after its 13 years operational life.

The Galileo and EGNOS Front Desks are now integrated into the European GNSS (E-GNSS) Front Desk. Users reaching the E-GNSS call centre will get a reply from the GSC Helpdesk for Galileo-related requests and from the EGNOS Helpdesk for EGNOS-related requests.

Galileo’s High Accuracy Service (HAS), available since 2023, provides sub-metric positioning accuracy worldwide, offering a reliable and precise alternative to traditional Differential GNSS (DGNSS) corrections without the need for additional ground infrastructure. Companies are already getting the added value of this very specific Galileo service.

After the successful launch of Galileo satellites GSAT0226 (SVID 23) and GSAT0232 (SVID 16) carried out on September 17, 2024, the Galileo Satellite Metadata information has been updated for this new comers to the Galileo constellation.

Building on its established role as the Galileo Services Provider, EUSPA has now taken on the responsibility of being the EGNOS Data Access Service (EDAS) Provider, centralising key services and enhancing user experience across multiple domains.
