Getting Started with Galileo: High Accuracy Service (HAS) and Real-World Applications

Geo Information Netherlands (GIN) is organising a webinar for its members and the wider professional community on 23 June 2026, focusing on Galileo Services, the High Accuracy Service (HAS) and related applications. The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA)’s GNSS Service Centre (GSC), together with the Netherlands Space Agency, will participate and present an introduction to Galileo and its innovative services.
During the session, EUSPA's GNSS Service Centre will not only present an overview of the Space Programme but also provide a comprehensive introduction to the different services of Galileo, Europe's Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), highlighting their capabilities, applications, and benefits. Particular attention will be given to its High Accuracy Service (HAS) and its growing role in enabling high-performance positioning solutions, focusing on geomatics.
Designed for a broad audience, open to attendees from all countries and organisations, the webinar will demonstrate how Galileo services can benefit a wide range of geo-information applications and professional activities. Participants will gain knowledge on the advantages of HAS and explore real-world projects and use cases that showcase the value of Galileo-enabled solutions.
The session will also introduce the GSC as the single interface between the Galileo system and the users of Galileo services. Attendees will discover the information services, technical documentation, support resources, user engagement activities, and opportunities available through EUSPA and the GSC.
A dedicated Q&A session will provide participants with the opportunity to interact directly with GSC specialists, discuss implementation aspects, and gain a deeper understanding of the ongoing evolution of Galileo services and their applications.

About Galileo
Galileo, the EU´s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), provides improved navigation, positioning and timing information. More than 4 billion users are already benefitting from Galileo.
The Galileo Programme is owned by the EU. The European Commission, as the Programme Manager, oversees the implementation of all activities. EUSPA is responsible for the operational management of the services, ensuring that they are delivered with the defined performance and without interruption. Galileo's system design and system evolution are entrusted by EUSPA to ESA.
