Webinar: Galileo Services and Applications for Geoinformation in collaboration with EGU and IAG

Discover how Galileo services can support geoinformation research and professional applications!

The European GNSS Service Centre (GSC) will contribute to the webinar “Research Support with Galileo Services and Applications for Geoinformation”, organised by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) on 27 October 2026.

During the session, GSC experts supporting EUSPA activities will introduce the EU Space Programme, with a particular focus on Galileo and its services for geospatial users, including the Galileo services differentiators High Accuracy Service (HAS) and Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA). The session will explain the main characteristics of these services, how they can be accessed and their potential benefits for geoinformation applications.

Bringing together professionals from the geoinformation and Earth science communities, the event will explore how Galileo services can support high-accuracy positioning, geospatial data collection and a wide range of geoinformation applications. As part of the programme, GSC experts will present real-world projects and use cases illustrating the use of Galileo services in professional and scientific workflows.

The session will also introduce the role of the GSC as the single interface between the Galileo users and the Galileo system, providing service information, technical documentation, user support and practical user-oriented resources in support of EUSPA activities.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about Galileo services and their applications in geoinformation and Earth sciences and to engage directly with GSC experts during the event discussions.

About Galileo

Galileo, the EU´s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), provides improved navigation, positioning and timing information. More than 4.5 billion users are already benefitting from Galileo.

The Galileo Programme is owned by the EU. The European Commission, as the Programme Manager, oversees the implementation of all activities. EUSPA is responsible for the operational management of the services, ensuring their availability, continuity and performance, and for the procurement of launch services required for the deployment and replenishment of the constellation. Galileo's system design and system evolution are entrusted by EUSPA to ESA.
