Galileo HAS and OSNMA: Performances, Receivers and Practical Implementation

An in-depth look at Galileo’s High Accuracy Service (HAS) and Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) Service, covering performance, receiver technologies and practical implementation.

The Geo Information Netherlands (GIN) is organising a dedicated webinar for its members and the wider professional community on 30 June 2026. The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA)’s GNSS Service Centre (GSC), together with the Netherlands Space Agency, will participate and present the Galileo’s High Accuracy Service (HAS) and Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) from a practical implementation perspective.

This session builds on the introductory webinar held on 23 June 2026 and moves towards a more technical and application-oriented level of detail. It is an open webinar accessible to all interested participants, open to attendees from all countries and organisations.

During the webinar, EUSPA's GNSS Service Centre will present key aspects of HAS and OSNMA, including their performance characteristics, operational principles and real-world applications, highlighting their relevance for geomatics professionals, surveyors and GIS specialists.

The webinar will focus on practical implementation and technical workflows, with an emphasis on receiver-level integration and key considerations for operational deployment, covering both Galileo HAS corrections and OSNMA. HAS provides high-precision positioning that can significantly enhance geomatics workflows such as surveying, mapping, and GIS-based data acquisition, while OSNMA enables users to verify the authenticity of Galileo navigation messages, strengthening data trustworthiness and increasing the overall robustness and resilience.

The session will also address the setup and implementation of HAS and OSNMA in receivers, strengthening data trustworthiness and supporting positioning confidence in applications where reliability is critical.

About Galileo

Galileo, the EU´s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), provides improved navigation, positioning and timing information. More than 4 billion users are already benefitting from Galileo.

The Galileo Programme is owned by the EU. The European Commission, as the Programme Manager, oversees the implementation of all activities. EUSPA is responsible for the operational management of the services, ensuring that they are delivered with the defined performance and without interruption. Galileo's system design and system evolution are entrusted by EUSPA to ESA.
