European Space Expo inspires 30 000 in Dublin

The latest destination for the European Space Expo (ESE) was Dublin. This spectacular exhibition made its most recent landing between 4 and 9 June in the centre of the Irish capital at the Trinity College Dublin. The ESE has been a massive hit across Europe and Dublin was no exception with plenty of activities for all ages during its week in the Emerald Isle.

2013: launch of EU-Japan industrial cooperation in downstream GNSS

The week of 13 May 2013 was the opportunity to explore EU-Japan industrial cooperation in downstream GNSS markets, with the opening of the first GNSS.Asia Japan workshop held in Tokyo, which gathered over 70 participants from the Japanese industry and academia in discussions with European counterparts.

The European Commission and the GSA are meeting the European GNSS stakeholders in Brussels

The workshop enabled the European Commission, the GSA and the stakeholders to exchange their viewpoints and experience about the European GNSS downstream applications sector. In the light of the on-going public consultation on applications of EU satellite navigation programmes, a workshop was organised in Brussels on the 4th June. The first part of the workshop focused on the past and future activities of the EC aiming to maximise and ensure the market uptake of European GNSS downstream applications.

The European GNSS Service Centre is open to help users

On the 14th of May 2013, Antonio Tajani, the Vice- President of the European Commission, responsible for enterprise and industry policy, and Ana Pastor, Spanish Minister of Transport, inaugurated the European GNSS Service Centre in the Loyola de Palacio building in Spain.

New EGNOS Open Service Definition released!

The European Commission has released version 2.0 of the EGNOS Open Service Definition Document (SDD). The revised document reflects recent improvements in EGNOS geographic coverage and other enhancements. The new version 2.0 of the European Commission’s EGNOS SDD (Open Service Definition Document) reflects recent improvements implemented for the EGNOS service. The document shows significant improvements in the geographic coverage of the EGNOS Open Service as can be seen from the map below.
